The Artist

I am Vernita Dawkins, owner and founder of Beauty N' Season Makeup in the Washington metro area. My makeup artistry began 15 years ago during my federal government career as a software project manager at NIH. Training and mentoring cultivated my dedication and passion in the art of makeup. ‍

My work can be seen on the book cover, Wes Moore, The Work, My Search For A Life That Matters published January 2015 by Random House. featured in the September 2012 Editorial magazine, the Spring 2011 On Makeup Magazine by The Powder Group and the January 2010, The Business of Professional Modeling publication.

I also had the opportunity to work as part of the makeup artist team on the short film, Unraveled by Lori Nelson Lee in 2011, available on Amazon Prime and a health care video for the Center of Tobacco, FDA.
