Yes, a facial mask should be a part of your skincare routine.

It is an essential part of your skincare routine. It is just as important as your daily routine to wash and moisturize the skin. The facial mask adds to the nurturing of your skin to keep it healthy and glowing.

Yes, there are many benefits to using a facial mask in your skincare routine.

A facial mask has dual benefits. When used routinely in your skincare regimen, it helps your skin to adjust to (1) seasonal changes in the environment (2) hormonal changes and (3) promotes a healthy skincare glow. Always be aware of any prescribed medications that could affect your skin and the reactions that may occur due to ingredients in products that may cause a reaction. The chart below lists the benefits of LimeLife skincare mask when used consistently.

A facial mask used a minimum of twice a week and more often as needed will provide the best benefits.

To achieve the benefits of healthy glowing skin, it is essential to exfoliate the skin using a mask. This process removes dead skin cells, clears clogged pores, and helps other products like moisturizes and serums to penetrate deeper into the skin for long lasting results. If you get into a routine of at least twice a week, your skin will enjoy the benefits.

Seasons of the year also play an important part in facial mask. If you have oily/acne prone skin, during the summer months because of more oil production, you may find that you need an extra day of masking to control excessive oil and breakouts. If you have dry to combination skin, winter may be the season to exfoliate more to remove dehydrated or dead skin cells. Your skin may crave the added moisturizing benefits from a moisturizing mask.

Remember your skin will react to the foods you eat – sodas, chips, fast food, fried foods, sweets vs fresh fruits, veggies and lean meats or seafood and salty seasonings. A lifestyle of exercise and healthy eating will go a long way to maintaining your skin’s healthy glow! Yes, you can seek the advice of a dermatologist but in the end, you need to learn and understand your skin and its reaction to what you eat, drink, medications, and the environment.

Yes, it does matter what mask you use for your skin type.

The key with oily/acne-prone skin is to control the over production or secretion of oil which clogs pores on the face A clay-based facial mask like LimeLife’s Masque of Zen or a charcoal-based mask is great for oily/acne-prone and combination skin. Both clay and charcoal are known to absorb excess oil from the skin’s surface. Clay is a great absorber for excess oil and helps to unclog pores to combat skin breakouts.

LimeLife Masque of Zen

LimeLife Skin Polish

The key with all skin types is to retain moisture and keep the skin in optimum balance. A hydrating mask like Lime Life’s Skin Polish is the perfect mask! It hydrates while removing dehydrated and dead skin with natural Jojoba Beads that help to reduce breakouts. The lemon, cypress and olives help restore and protect the skin bringing it to a youthful glow and skin that retain the proper amount of moisture.

Having combination (not to oily, not to dry) and mature/aging skin, I use both mask at various times. My “go-to” mask is Skin Polish. I tend to use the Masque of Zen during the hot weather months when I may have more oil production on the cheeks and breakouts from delicious summertime treats (lemonades, smoothies, ice cream, milkshakes, and cherry topped cheesecake)!

The Skin Type Mask Chart below lists the different facial mask by LimeLife, the benefits of each mask and the skin type.
